Forum Title: Floor Drain Venting
Please see the attached PDF. Is the new floor drain tying in the the existing floor drain before the vent a code violation? I was under the impression that you are given a certain distance that you can do a combination waste and vent as long as it is on the same floor. The new floor drain is 10' from the existing vent location. If this is a code violation can someone please explain the solution with minimal impact on the existing structure. Thank you, Robbie

Wouldn't this be a tripping hazard?

Are there any other possible scenarios? I know its a mechanical room but the client would rather not have a pipe coming out the middle of the mechanical room floor if possible. Thanks for everyone's help!

that is not a combo waste/vent you will need to provide a vent. i would run it exposed as opposed to busting crete, it is a mech room approx. 12'' high, lower if possible
