Forum Title: Removing Drain Piece
Hi, I was unclogging a shower drain that had a pop top drain stopper. I got the pop-top piece off but the piece that connects this to the drain broke. I'm looking to replace this piece and was wondering what the best way to remove it is. There is nothing to really grip onto so I haven't been able to get it off. Tried various vice grips, etc but haven't had any luck. Has anyone run into this before and have any suggestions? Maybe there is another tool that might help. Picture attached. Thanks for any help you can provide.

OK, thanks for the quick responses. I'll give that a try.

If that doesn't work, you will have to cut it out. I take a small hacksaw blade and ever so slightly cut through it in a few different spots, then take a flat head screwdriver and peel it out. It can be a little time consuming. The other option it to cut some slots into it and tap it around to unthread it.
